I mentioned when I launched the site that there would be a few surprises. If you’ve ever met Jay, you know how technically inept he is (in his own words). He has never sent an email in his life. But Jamie and I managed to convince him to just write, and let me take care of the rest. He’s written his first two blog posts, and I am proud to present what many may have thought impossible: The Jay Maisel Blog.
As with other areas of the site, I’ll be adding features to it as time permits – with the priority being a commenting system. Jay enjoys feedback, especially healthy debate on a particular topic, or criticism of his work, and I think comments will offer a forum for that interaction. In the meantime, RSS feeds are running, and I’ve included a link to Jay’s Facebook Page as ways to keep up with new posts.
Another quick tidbit of site news: When we launched the new site, the Recent Work gallery was left behind. But after some reworking, I’ve brought it back, and made some enhancements. It’s no longer Flash-based, which means all you iPad/iPhone users can pull it up on the go. And as with the Print Portfolio, I’ve included a “Grid View” button so you can view the whole gallery at once and skip right to a specific photo at your whim.
That’s all for now. As always, if you have any feedback (positive or negative), bugs to point out, questions or comments, please let me know.
