Nursing, Philippines

From the Philippines II collection

(Intro from Philippines I)

It’s a total joy to photograph people who are friendly and open. This is another one of those places where the people are the ticket. Aside from the ten aerials in here, there are only a few images without people.

I must admit that on one trip I was told I had to have an armed guard with me. I got to know him and asked him if it was really necessary. His answer: “If you’re not running for office here and you’re not sleeping with the wrong guy’s wife, or worse, girlfriend, you’ll be OK.”

I survived.
