Optical Play and Suns II
(Intro from Optical Play and Suns I
Over the years I have found many optical images. I call them optical because they play with your eye and demand close attention. In some instances here I have paired them off to make the point more clearly.
Suns is a collection of suns I shot with lenses ranging from 50mm to 2000mm.
Dark blue shapes (bottles) are positive in the foreground; yellow is negative space of light that can appear as long-stem glasses.
Multiple images are not mirrors, only a fragmentation of parking lot through lattice wall.
Often times reflections can complicate things. Here my friend, Hale, is not wearing carpet pants.
Contrary to all physical measurement or visual cues, the width of these stacked crates does not expand at the rear.
The larger the image becomes the more the subjects dissolve into abstract shapes.
