Christmas No 9

From the Christmas collection

Christmas for me as a kid growing up in a Jewish family in Brooklyn was not a big deal.

I wanted it to be, but instead there was Chanukah, and you’d get Chanukah presents. It just wasn’t the same—Christmas had better advertising, better P.R., better presents, etc., etc.

When I left home at the age of 18 and moved to “the city” (Manhattan) I was immersed in the business of Christmas, from the Santas, the decorations, the trees, to all the rest.

This series started in 1954 and went on till 2015.
